SIR MICHAEL MORPURGO - 2022
Nov 8, 2021Sir Michael Morpurgo, OBE, FRSL, FKC has written over 130 books and is also a poet and playwright. His children’s books include War Horse that has been performed on stage and made into a movie. Michael was the Children’s Laureate between 2003-2005. With his wife, Clare, Michael set up Farms for City Children in 1976. Michael has won numerous literary awards and prizes including the Carnegie Medal four times, and the Prix Sorcières, three times. In addition to his many awards, Michael has honorary degrees from Newcastle University and Bishop Grosseteste University and was made a Knight Bachelor in 2018 to services to literature and charity.
